Welcome

Hi, I’m Cheryl. I’m 54, a single mom, and like so many of you—I’m just doing the best I can. I’m walking this path in the sandwich generation, loving my 19-year-old twin daughters while also caring for my 81-year-old mom who’s living with early dementia.By day, I’m an elementary school principal with over 30 years in education. I’ve spent a lifetime pouring into kids, families, and teachers—and I love it deeply. But lately, I’ve realized something big: I’ve been so focused on helping others that I forgot to check in on myself. This blog is my space to reflect, reconnect, and reset. It’s about faith (I love Jesus), finding balance in a full life, sorting through finances, and rediscovering the small joys—like reading a good book, laughing with friends, and learning to let go of what doesn’t matter.Still Waters and Sticky Notes is a place for honest conversations, gentle reminders, and maybe a little humor too. Life is messy, beautiful, exhausting, and holy all at once—and if that resonates with you, I’m so glad you’re here.Welcome. Let’s figure it out together.
